Made from a scrap postcard that we tested some stamps on, this piece was completed in Istanbul with my new Faber-Castell fineliners. I always walk around with old postcards in my pencil case, and this one had the motorbike and the quote on it, and I built up the card by drawing on the image, adapted from, yes you guessed it, Black Jack volume 12 by Osamu Tezuka!

Astro makes no appearance in this story. This story is about a bear hunter who is so adamant that he will be the one who kills a man-eating bear that he drives away everyone he loves.
When Black Jack comes to his house, his sister has lost patience with him (the hunter) and left him.
Black Jack is in the house when the hunter goes out to hunt the bear and gets mauled. While the hunter is injured, the bear gets shot by someone else. To try and keep him alive, Black Jack tells him that the bear is still alive.
The sister however, decides to come to the cottage, dressed as the bear to try and keep her brother alive. The brother hauls himself from bed and shoots the bear, thus killing his sister.
It's a great story, and once again, I say, go grab a copy of Black Jack if you can. Astro Boy, although his most known piece, is not Tezukas best work in my opinion.
