Mailart 365 has moved

An envelope I made for a birthday card which I also made, then forgot to photograph before mailing, alas. And an envelope that I sent to maryhassound a while back.

The puffin envelope is going to a puffin fan, along with an article about the bird. Normally, I wouldn't glue a citation to an envelope, but coincidentally, this cite from the blog noted cites the very article I am sending. I put a seal only on this, so that the recipient doesn't miss any of the back when she opens it.

And then there is a piece of cardboard from a screwdriver-set that begged to be reincarnated, which went to a convalescent.

One Rice-a-roni box going to daughter, and one Christmas in July card to P-lily. It is true: I could not resist the facial stickers at the dollar store - the eyes on that poor woman are just one of many options I can send out to unsuspecting mail artists!

Noddy has travelled to Greece! I am a mild fan of Noddy; it's his name that gets me, and Blyton's illustrations,too! Glossy pages from a Noddy yearbook made a nice envelope.

I had to resend a Christmas in July card, cause it was returned to me by p.o. - I had cut an unused stamp from an envelope, and they detected the tape that was holding it on - illegal!!!
The cops were here, and everything! (Not really...:)

I did not make up "Humps Haven!" That picture of the ladies holding the sign is from an old Life magazine. I initially thought the place really existed, but maybe not. A Google search turned up zilch. Anyhoo, it was all I needed to set off on collage madness...but, man, was it fun!

Patty has received this, so can finally post it. This is the crazy envelope for the large piece. I am using it again (the full picture - posted a detail prior) to fill my quota, since I worked on it over several days. (Any complaints, speak with Geezer Museum curator, Mr. Andy T.)

This is going to a lovely lady on IOUMA who sent me the most beautiful hand-made envelope, with a tropical theme, from Hawaii, and inspired me to try making my own envelopes. It was much easier than I had anticipated, and so much fun to make! It's a page from an old calendar, with Santa added, of course.

It is a very nice museum, in Vermont, not far from here. Lots of folk art.

With all due respect to Erastus Salisbury Field, and his subject, Luman Preston Norton. I never noticed the opening in the front of the dress before; now, I seem to have highlighted it! I'm going to have to research this painting.

I knew that if I schlepped these Recipe Club cards around, through several moves, they would come in handy someday. Use them for cooking? What a crazy idea! These were one of many vain attempts to coax my inner cook out into the daylight, but she never did bite. Heh-heh.

My envelope was inspired by the onion domes on a local Russian Orthodox church. I purchased the card at a fair held at another RO church a bit further afield, in Albany. I am posting the card, 'cause I know my fellow mail artists will enjoy it. It is going to my daughter, who has a keen interest in Russian history and culture. This will be refreshing, also, since she lives in hot and humid Atlanta.
