Once again, my kids are helping me catch up with my mailart! Thanks guys! My son made this for me, and was quick to point out that its inspired by Sonic Youth. What a cool kid.

I actually made this in China but forgot about it. The postmarks were from envelopes I found on the street.

Am I a bad person for cutting up the painting that my 3 year old nephew gave me to use for backgrounds? It was on lovely thick watercolor paper :)

My daughter helped me out by making this lovely piece of mailart. Thanks! Her consolation is that she gets to mail it to one of her friends.

30 August 2011 Quick and Easy PC: Summer Reads swap. I had to choose a book I've read this summer that was my "favorite" and tell my partner what it was and why. Well since June 21 until today, I have read 24 books and have several that I enjoyed. This book was a fast 4 hour read from 10pm on a Friday night until 2:00am on Saturday morning. I didn't want to wait to find out what happened next long enough to go to sleep. There are 5 factions in the "dystopian" society and you must choose which one to live in permanently at the age of 16. You are given an evaluation to see which one you are most compatible with but can choose any of them. The main character Beatrice is considered a "divergent" because she tested compatible with 3 factions. She is told by a sympathetic test administrator that divergents are dangerous to the society and she must not reveal her result to anyone.

I had a Saturday supplement magazine from a week ago which I saved from the journey to Scotland and then I found a different magazine left on the train by somebody on the journey back so I've been snipping pieces out of both and combined to make this wishlist! at ten to two!

While I was busy drawing the mug flowers from yesterday, Hannah was busy making this piece out of various leaflets we'd been handed at The Fringe in Edinburgh - you could get enough material from there to make mailart for a good few months and all of it for free! :)

I did these flowers while I was up in Scotland on holiday (I'm now back) and sitting in my parents' house I noticed some mugs which I bought for Mum's birthday last year. They had flowers on them like this so I took my inspiration from them and have made some "mug flowers" of my own!
