One of the first places Patrick took me walking was Uffington to see the white horse. England had had those terrible storms that year and many trees had blown down and I rememember seeing those ancient trees uprooted as we approached the white horse. It is difficult to imagine that the horse has been dated at 3,000 years old and some of the oaks were probably around in the medieval times. It's all about history here. 'W' is for the white horse!
