Thanks for visiting Mailart 365. This site is an archive of mailart produced by artists doing mailart 365 from December 2010 to August 2016. As of July 2016, we moved to a new and more modern site at www.mailart365.com. Come on over and check us out there
Ooooo ... this reminds of a poem that drove me nuts as a child, but that I loved ... The Duel by Eugene Field ...
"The gingham dog and the calico cat Side by side on the table sat"
It is a rather violent tale, and at the end there is nothing left of the two and it is said that they ate each other up. I spent hours and hours trying to figure out if was really possible for them to eat each other without leaving a trace. I imagined them meeting mid-air, with mouths wide open and vanishing as they ate each other. I just loved the idea that nothing was left ... it was the sort of magic that probably lead me to enjoy science fiction as an adult.
Oh my, I remember my mother reading Eugene Field poems to me as a child. Don't remember this tale, BUT the Calico dog is now at home with moi! Thanks for this cutie since I no longer have my real dog, it's nice to have a paper one. Such a cute face. Thanks, it arrived today.
