Another photo from the British Museum taken in London in the 1880s, the time of Jack the Ripper. These photos evoke the eerie moodiness of the shabbier side of London in that era. I added the figures waving and shouting to the man in the upstairs window. Perhaps Jack himself?

Wonderful to see these old photos of London - so many places around town still look similar to this, but of course the way those figures you added are dressed look far from the present!
