Mailart 365 has moved

Todays Return to Sender is going back to a phone company. The main image is a single piece from the newspaper, with cut out slits for the electrocution subplot. Really pleased with the way that the main baller's skeleton came out

We moved back into our flat after having let it out for 3 years, so we get quite a lot of mail that needs to be forwarded on or returned to sender. In the UK, returning to sender and forwarding is free of charge, and given that the post is so damn expensive these days and me and Elena are on a single salary with our first child on the way, I've decided to make a project out of return post.

I like the idea of brightening up the day of some bored chain mail lackey somewhere and this one is going back to a credit card company

Back envelope to Jean Pierre Comes

It's just occurred to me that, up til now I've not really made the most of the fact that envelopes have 2 layers. Time to rectify that I think. At the moment our house is full of baby magazines, so chances are you'll see a few of them in my Mailart

Simple image on a Vietnamese airmail envelope. Although not my best piece, I'm really pleased I managed to get one done today as I made a right mess of the first piece I wanted to do and just had to push through artistic block to get this done. Pleased to have made something and got on track

Just a simple one today. A little exercise in perspective

After an aborted 365.2 last year I think it's time to get a focus. I have a particular fondness for drawing on envelopes and, having been inspired by Stripygoose to pursue a singular theme, I thought I'd give the envelope theme a go. 

Up until now I've actually already created more than 365 illustrated envelopes, but these have been sprinkled in with other mailart, so this project will be exclusively envelopes.

In this piece, I wanted to colour it all myself. I've never been too hot on colour and usually Elena will finish off my linework with colour, otherwise I'll produce flat colour. I had to concentrate hard on the tones particularly.

A new year a new project. I’ve decided to give 365 another go. I intend to watercolour a flower each day for a year. Lets see how long I keep it up this time around.
