October 2, 2011. Bananas are back in the Greek markets. This is
basketball and bananas for the Banana Man in Germany.  I am eating
bananas today to get rid of this head cold I caught leaving the UK ;-(
And there is such beautiful sunshine, I should be out and not indoors!

October 1, 2011. KALO MINA! Another new month, and 60 more days to go
until #365! I have returned to Greece and splashed a bit of sandpo as
the weather in Greece, in most of Europe, is still SUMMER! London had
record-breaking temperature for Oct.1 as I got on the plane to fly
home. This card goes to Amo in China, as the people on the beach are
spelling out here name. "amo" or ammos" in Greek means "sand"! Summer
in October!

#6 Straw

Monday, October 03, 2011

In the morning I poured straw from my shoes before beginning again to insert bales into the studio we're building.  I thought to photograph the straw detritus and knew that at the end of the day I'd be able to use it in some way in a mailart squeezed in around a chaotic day.

#5 Map of Day

Sunday, October 02, 2011

Spreading my love of  mail art to Heather who is an artist/teacher.  Also thinking of and experimenting with how to encourage teenagers to distill an experience. Perhaps a bit of a rush job (on the cusp of midnight after a day inserting straw bales in a studio wall and celebrating a 60th birthday).

229-365 Elephant

Sunday, October 02, 2011
Still being surprised how different things can look once they're scanned. Now that I'm looking at it here, I wish I'd not added the red piece. Maybe I should start doing provisional gluing and come back and look at it later.

#4 Scrumping - a particularly English word

Saturday, October 01, 2011
Scrumping is not an American word.  I learned it in Suffolk, England when I was walking my dog in the nearby orchard a few years ago.  A fellow dog walker was embarrassed to be surprised by me as he crunched an apple he'd plucked from a nearby bough, apologising for his 'scrumping'. Today I had an awkward moment with the orchard owner when I was again walking my dog on the way to post my mailart.  He kept looking at my postcard and the suspect message!  I have posted the mailart to my neighbour.

Saturday, October 01, 2011
