Were any other American mail-senders dissatisfied with the new Santa and Sleigh stamps? I couldn't stand the white border that went around all four of the designs as a whole, but only around two sides of each stamp when used individually. It looked odd on any envelope that wasn't the exact same white as the border, so I used up what I had of them and ordered the Eid stamps for the rest of my holiday mail. Festive and pretty with sparkly gold ink. I think it was a good decision.

craftgasm - the elevated envelope project

Tara of Ephemera hosted another round of her popular Elevated Envelope swap. I handmade my envelopes out of junk mail catalog covers (which are thicker than the pages, usually) and wrote the notes on catalog pages. Tucked inside are tiny kraft envelopes with typewritten return address labels for each lady all sealed, once again, with a catalog page. My note said I hoped that they would see their junk mail in a different light now that they had received good mail made entirely of the unsolicited kind.

mailart365-Day 194

Created for a junk mail swap on swap-bot. Most of our junkmail these days is from colleges so the background is a college brochure. I added decoys from an auction catalog, ducks from a hunting catalog and part of a non-profit stamp.
