318 - Grazing herd

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

Also from "The Fellowship of the Horse" this piece was drawn in Minstead on Sharpie envelope. I haven't sold that many recently since I raised my price by 50p to £8 a pack. I wanted to know if I was selling so many because of price or because I draw on the envelopes. Looks like it's price then...

After drawing these envelopes I took another look at the menu for the place and found out that Minstead is where Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes is buried, so when I finished this piece, me and Elena went out to the cemetery behind up the road and visited Conan Doyles grave

317 - The bigger fool of the two

Tuesday, November 06, 2012

We went away this weekend to the New Forest and I drew this in a pub in Minstead called The Trusty Servant, which serves a fine apple crumble.

The image came from an old dusty book on the shelves called "The Fellowship of the horse" which had loads of great pencil drawings of horses in it.

277-365 This is the way we go to school

Friday, November 04, 2011
That's not my writing on the edge there, that was put there by a school librarian. That is an actual library book card. Don't worry I didn't steal it, I found it at the bottom of a bin of books at the Goodwill.

Luxury Ecclefechan Tarts Saving Plan 06 August 2011 (#164)

Sunday, August 07, 2011
I had this piece of Ecclefechan Tarts packaging at work for ages as a lady there had asked me to get some when I was in Scotland. For those who don't know and I wasn't really that sure myself these are a traditional Scottish delicacy revived.

"Deep cups of buttery shortbread pastry filled with a luscious confection of juicy vine fruits and almonds. Lovely warmed and served with cream. Perfect with tea, coffee - or a wee spot of sherry!
"

(Description taken from Walkers website
http://www.walkersshortbread.com/onlineshop/Product.aspx?Category=119&Product=1832)

When I then saw the word "luxury" on both the packet and in a magazine advert, along with the horse, I knew they just had to go together - enjoy!

2-6-11 Star Trails

Sunday, February 06, 2011
I often run across a photo that I just can't pass up. This is one of those photos. A time lapse photo of the movement of stars across the Northern Lights. I added the horse for depth & contrast, and was really happy with the result.
