003-008/365-2 One Image Postcard Swap Envies

Monday, June 08, 2015
One of my favorite postcard swaps is the One Image swap. Using a rubber stamp, a single image is stamped on a blank card and the sender has to build around that image and mail it back to you. My image this year looks like this:
It was stamped in random places on the 4x6 card. No two are the same.
These are the envies:
Addressing the flap side allowed me to stamp the front side so the recipient can use the image in their creative endeavors:

314/365 American Dream

Wednesday, April 29, 2015
My favorite kind of mail art to make are the trash bubbles I create. As they cost so much more than a postcard to mail, I have not been making many this past year. When I went to package a swap I'd created, I knew it was time to revive my technique. So here it is, American Dream!
Below are a few of the stages that brought around the end result you see above.

279/365 SPRING: Return of the Nesting Songbirds

Tuesday, April 07, 2015

This piece is one of the Nesting Birdies I create. It was attached to a previously created 4x6 inch mixed-media background. Knowing that it would get torn to shreds without some sort of protection, but wanting to stick as closely as possible to the organic m.a. process, the piece was slipped inside a plastic sleeve and windows were cut from an envelope to create a "frame" of sorts for it. It was secured in place using washi and cellophane tape.
