The lips came from a spectacles leaflet that we had delivered to our old house in bulk. In the communal area, these leaflets would pile up, so I took them to use them for repeat patterns. I already miss getting loads of the same leaflet delivered.
The main image is from the front cover of Tekkon Kinkreet by Taiyo Matsumoto. I wanted to experiment with colouring in, something I'm not very good at. I find I don't have the eye to see the subtleties of colour in skin tone, and always tend to colour the whole thing in one flat colour. This time I paid special attention to the tones and it worked out ok, but I still need more patience.

Thanks JJ! I'm still doing a lot of tracing, but I have been drawing a bit lately too. I particularly love drawing Usagi Yojimbo, I'm getting better.
By the way I never said thanks for The Arrival. It's great. What an artist!

Gasp. I just found out that they're showing Tekkon in the Barbican. But we're going to be away in October :-(
