At the beach today, we came across many strange creatures, unfortunately, two different kinds of jellyfish. Also this little guy. It was the same brilliant blue of the blue bottle jelly but about 1 centimetre wide two millimetres thick and with teeny tiny little short tendrils coming out in all directions. I didn't take a photo so I came home and watercolored it from memory. I can't really Google it to find what it was because I have no idea what to search for. We even showed it to a life guard who said she'd seen one before but didn't know what it was but the good news was that it doesn't sting.

Is it the Porpita or blue-button jellyfish? Which searches say is not a true jellyfish, but a group of polyps floating on the ocean.
