I assume this isn't Michael Keaton who played Batman (see my movie knowledge is limited - I never had a TV as a boy, not til I was 18, so I have a lot of catching up to do)

Ha! No - it's the late, great Buster Keaton. I always did prefer him to Chaplin. He directed many of the films he appeared in.
