Mailart 365 has moved

The people at the hardware stores don't even give me a passing glance when I stand at the paint chip display and gather 100 chips at a time. I just love reading the names and would love the job of coming up with new names. I have one file of paint chips that is dedicated to the most unusual names. Can't quite figure out why this particular green is called "Repurposed."

Since the featured fish are fossils, I'm calling this series Dead Friends. The "fish are friends, not food" quote is from the movie Finding Nemo. I didn't remember that line (the shark says it), but when I got the fish fossil list from Juli, I commented that I could repurpose it into mailart and still keep within my food theme because fish is food. Greg (my significant other) and a co-worker said, together, "fish are friends, not food." I thought it rather odd because neither of them are vegetarians. Greg was surprised I didn't remember the line from the movie ... it was one of the first movies we saw together. 

This beer is my all-time favorite beer. I could drink a whole bottle of this, all by myself.

Greg and I saw Spamalot on stage a year or so ago. I enjoyed it, but I'm not as big a Monty Python fan as Greg. When Monty Python and the Holy Grail came out in movie theaters in the 70s, I got so scared by the rabbit that I had to leave.

I was supposed to post this last night, but I got carried away with making work related mailart. Sadly, when I emailed the office manager a copy of what I wanted to send to our store managers, it scared her, so I guess I will be recycling those five postcards. Some people just don't "get" mailart. I'm not a scary person. Really. .

If I were financially solvent right now, I'd donate to WIkipedia, just for this Shaken, Not Stirred entry alone. I wouldn't base a scholarly thesis on it, nor would I use it as my sole source in a journalistic piece, but it entertains and informs.

I found the Ian Fleming postage in my huge stamp stash last week. I love James Bond movies. All of them. But, I've only read one James Bond novel, and I don't even remember which one. I just remember that I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the movies.

Vellum paper is wicked fussy. The glue shows through, and the scan just makes it look all the more obvious. It isn't that obvious on the actual card. Eventually I'll find an adhesive for vellum that doesn't show through, and stands up to the mail system.

I wove strips of a butter carton into the front of a box of microwave popcorn (Orville Redenbacker Natural Lime and Salt ... very good!) and used NefFlix Origami for the heart. I've had that link in my bookmarks forever and finally get to use it. I am the Queen of Bookmarks.

I love Netflix. Greg is the Queue Master and I never peek to see what is coming next. It is always a surprise and always something great. We just watched Network, a movie both of us have wanted to see for ages. Loved it.
