I have learned in my focused exploration of creativity (especially my dive into ATC-making) this year that I am most certainly a "series-maker." I've had big ideas in the past about series of mythology-inspired paintings, series of short stories accompanied by artwork and/or music, series of letters and stories that would go into zines. Instead, I tend to lose motivation as I go along-- usually after just the first or second-- because I get so wrapped up in the IDEA of a grand series of letters or artworks that I forget that you also have to leave time to IMPLEMENT these ideas. How silly of me. :)
Several users on Swap-Bot host mail art series that I've recently joined. One is just monthly-- mail art created without a real theme. I don't know that I'll turn that into a series. The other that I'm getting involved in is a color series.I don't know if this is coincidence (given my fanhood of letter writing generally) but I listen to a lot of musicians who have songs that are all about letter writing, postcards, postage, and snail mail. I've decided to take the color theme (blue, for this envelope) and create a postcard series featuring these lyrics. This one is my first, featuring lyrics from "The Last Letter" by The Field Mice. The accompanying ATC (because-- why not?) features lyrics from The Smoking Popes' "Writing A Letter."

Great! Look forward to seeing the series unfold or be folded...
