I have a postal stamp from Tchula Mar 29, 1962. It got me wondering if Tchula was a real place and where was it? It is real!!! Tchula, Mississippi, USA, according to the 2000 census there are 524 families living there and 49% live below the poverty line. The median household income was just $11,571. It doesn't sound like a happy place to live and I can't imagine thing were much better in 1962.

That is very interesting about that Stamp, Laura. Cool that you researched it. What a sad little town. I heard, recently, that Mississippi is the poorest and most conservative state in the union.
