O had never heard of a hip flask prior to arriving in England. I don't have one so have been surprised, on a long cold walk, to be offered a bit of fortification.

They have hip flask sin the US, they are usually used by guys going to football games. Or if they go hunting, brooze and hunting what a combo, yikes.
