I was looking at how I could mark Holocaust Memorial Day (not the easiest of themes) in mailart, when I read on a blog about the Holocaust Memorial in Boston which is made up of 6 square glass towers. There are apparently personal inscriptions on each panel and the one I read about and which inspired this reads as follows:ILSE, A CHILDHOOD FRIEND of mine,
once found a raspberry in the camp
and carried it in her pocket all day
to present to me that night on a leaf
IMAGINE A WORLD in which
your entire possession is
one raspberry and
you gave it to your friend.
