Having just moved into a new town, Elena and I are still feeling a little unsettled. I mentioned this to a friend, and she invtied us to her church Christmas card making do on Wednesday.
When we turned up, the place was full of women. When Penny saw my face, she blushed and explained that she hadn't realised it was actually womens night.
We stayed anyway, Elena making Christmas decorations and I made this little piece from scraps laying around.
When I asked Elena what it was, she thought it was a bauble, because she's never seen Christmas pudding before, so this year we'll buy Christmas pudding for her. I do feel like I should make one for her, with coins in it, but not too confident about my cake making abilities yet

Great story, Andy. I thought it was an ornament.

I always like it when I share Elena's first experience of something. It's so sweet when she discovers something for the first time that I take for granted. Before last Christmas she'd never had mince pies for example, and she gorged on them and made herself quite sick!
