I usually don't paint actual things, but this swap was for a hand-painted postcard.
I made the background from a recycled cereal box and gesso. The green crab was copied from an old seashore identification book.

Here in Vietnam I have seen big buckets full of small crabs exactly that color for sale in the markets. There can't be much meat there only aout an inch and half across.

Yeah I wonder why they bother eating those crabs JJ. I saw them too!
