Not a day goes by that I don't wish I could be more self-sustaining ... grow my own food and make my own clothing ... but the truth is that I don't have the talents for such a life. Or maybe it is as much need as it is talent.
I read a blog written by folk who do strive for self-sufficiency, in the middle of a city. Little Homestead in the City is my escape into a fantasy world that I'm sure few would call fantasy.
P.S. Poetry is not my thing, but I do attempt a verse or two every forty years or so. My last attempt went like this ....
There once was a girl from Southie
Who was terribly, terribly mouthie
She talked all day
Having nothing to say
'Til she talked the ear off her spousie
That was written in high school and is self-referential since I am from South Boston, Massachusetts, which is called "Southie," and I tend to be verbose, which I am sure none of you have noticed.
