#107 - Cheese and Cheer

I can count on one hand how many times I have tossed out cheese, and this Erin Gold cheese would be in that hand. It was a bit too funky for me. I think where I went wrong was buying something with the word "style" on it. Anything that is "_____ style" is going to be a bad choice.

The saying is supposed to be an Irish saying, but what I know about Irish sayings would fit in a leprechaun's boot. I spent my early youth in a very Irish part of Boston, Massachusetts, but the only Irish I experienced was the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, which was quite the event.

I also spent a goodly portion of my adult life in a small Massachusetts town that was known as the Irish Riviera.

We got the day off school when I lived in Boston. Not because of St. Patrick's Day, though. March 17 is also Evacuation Day, which celebrates the evacuation of the British from Boston in 1776. The date is only celebrated in Boston, nowhere else in Massachusetts.

There is a little shamrock pin on this postcard, above the "Erin Gold." I used lots of heavy cardstock and fixed the pin with its backing on the back of the card. I'll put heavy packing tape over the backing to hold it in place. It will be interesting to see if it makes it to its destination.
