What do you call that hat? When I was growing up we called those types of hats "toboggans" which is also what the sled is called. My ex wondered why I would want to wear a sled on my head.

Ahhh in TO, we default to the french: "toque" although I have heard 'knit cap' before

In southwestern PA, where I live now, they are called tossle caps. I love that name because they are often lost in the "tossle" of schoolyards and jumbled mudrooms at home :-)
