
I often hear about art and commerce not going hand in hand, but I sometimes disagree with this pure grassroots ethic. After all, artists also have to eat and often art, design and commerce work quite well together. After all, wouldn't our supermarket shelves look boring without artists?
Yes, I agree that artworks have to come from the heart, but occasionally, the act of making something look pretty to sell things isn't such a bad thing. If you're going to shift lots of units, may as well have those units looking nice.
This little ramble is just prefacing a little piece I done sitting at the table as a sort of colour sketch. I just had a can of Sprite and thought it looked rather nice and I could recreate it with my pens.

I'm a big fan of packaging done well. It's a job well done when an artist manages to get global reach with their artworks, even if it is packaging or logo design. Anything that can be made beautiful as well as functional should be in my opinion
