#6 Letter

I visited some people in Pittsburgh today and they cut up pears for me. I haven't had a pear in forever! So this letter is to them :)

Very pretty letter. I love the colors. And that the pear is happy.

When I moved to Pittsburgh from my native New England, I discovered I had a pear tree in my backyard. I don't think I'd ever seen a single pear tree in someone's year up north. And I also discovered a certain affinity for pears in the Pittsburgh population. My coworkers brought them to work like I would bring apples. I made a pear postcard for an online exchange and happened to mention I was looking for fun recipes for pears since i had a tree. There were two other Pittsburgh folk in the group and both of them gave me lots of recipes and one sent me a pear tree rubber stamp.

Really nice colours and coordination. Love it!

When I was in Romania last Elena took me to this tree in her garden and gave me this sort of furry pear. She bit off a piece to prove it wasn't poisonous then chewed it. I did the same, chewed, and chewed and chewed. The thing was quite disgusting, really sour and you couldn't swallow it. I've no idea what it was but she seemed to like it.

I love pears so much. Ever since I have gone to college, I haven't had pears. Luckily I had some yesterday. My grandma had this weird pear tree, but no one ate off of it because the pears were quite disgusting, ha. Also people in Ohio were freaked out when I just bit into a pear like I would an apple. They said you have to cut it up into pieces... that was odd.

Thank you!. Yeah, my grandma's pears were so weird. They were exactly as you described them, so they just fell down and the deer/groundhogs, racoons would come over and eat them.

Growing up in SE Ohio our friend had several pear trees that we would pick up the pears and eat straight off the tree. I love pears too! My mom says when I was 3, she had set the table for dinner with a bowl of pears on it. She had to leave the room for something and when she came back the bowl was gone. I was hiding behind the couch eating the bowl of pears.

I was a quince. I kinda like them. They have a.....interesting taste.
