I thought that I can't do art 2 years ago. I've never been artistic before and didn't create anything as I grew up in Romania (Romanian schools don't promote art at all). But everything changed when I was employed as a teaching assistant one year after I came to London.
I took the job without thinking (and listening) too much as I needed to build up some experience in the UK. The second day in my job I was asked to draw a bus on at 2 by 1 meters sheet of paper for one of the school art display. I freaked out as I have never done any drawing before that.
Only after the first week I realised that I'm in charged with preparing and delivering of the art lessons. Anyway, I had a go at drawing, painting, making masks and other things that I had to do to teach the little kiddies (I didn't have a choice) and before I knew I was told that I'm brilliant. Not long after I was asked to do afternoon art clubs.
And that's how my artistic side was awaken.
The fact that Andy (my other half) is artistic helped me as well. He helped me to believe in me.
Now I enjoy learning and doing art a lot, my favourite one being quilling, as you probably know.
Recently I took drawing more seriously and start doing flowers (I love flowers).
I drew this from a flower pattern book that I have and then coloured it.

Thanks Mim. It's so true. There are so many new thinghs happening in my life at the moment but it's so hard to keep up with all. Really tiring and not enough hours in the day to do them all.
