Making mailart every day since December 1st, 2010!
Mailart 365 has moved
Thanks for visiting Mailart 365. This site is an archive of mailart produced by artists doing mailart 365 from December 2010 to August 2016. As of July 2016, we moved to a new and more modern site at www.mailart365.com. Come on over and check us out there
This card is the product of my plan to keep lots of backgrounds and images ready and available. Painted cereal box background, magazine bird and some of Fi's napkins.
Fiona and I are on the same continent...about a 9 hour drive. There are a bunch of us with napkin collections for collage. I've started to buy napkin packs when we go on vacation instead of souvenirs. Since they come in packs of 15 or 20, we share.
I found a tutorial in a 5 year old papercraft magazine about doing a sort of transfer using paper napkins and plastic wrap and a iron. I'm going to give it a try in a few weeks.

One of our favorite techniques uses paper napkins. You peel them down to one layer and adhere them on the card. It gives a neat transparent look.

This is such a beautiful piece. I really like the background. Is so pleasant to the eye.

I'm just wondering how you managed to get hold of Fi's napkins. Aren't you two on different continents? Did Fi actually send you some napkins?
