Thanks for visiting Mailart 365. This site is an archive of mailart produced by artists doing mailart 365 from December 2010 to August 2016. As of July 2016, we moved to a new and more modern site at www.mailart365.com. Come on over and check us out there6/365 by JJalltheway
The cover for the Sydney Theatre Company's 2011 season was black with a hole cut in it. As soon as I saw it I knew I was going to make a card with a hole in it for a friend who's feeling a bit of a hole in her life right now. And I just can't get enough of these little red arrow stickers.

I love the idea of mail as a supportive medium. That personal touch of a pen to paper and a personal message is really valuable in this era of impersonal electronic communication I feel.
I work in a university and recently gave some lectures on mailart to the art students and the lead tutor implemented a mailart programme between the students (who are art teachers and out in schools) because she felt that the medium really lent itself to supporting students. The students have been out in schools teaching this term and sending a postcard a week to each other showing their support. They'll have their first show in January, arranged by yours truly - I'm well excited! Apart from my REAL wall this will be my first mailart show and not a piece of my mailart in it!
I'll keep you all posted.
