Once upon a time I lived in a land called Santa Cruz, California. It was a lovely beachside community full of old hippies, young hipsters, and the spiritually minded. Santa Cruz is one of THE places to be if you are into self-help/spiritual retreats. The manic looking man on today's MA was on the cover of a brochure for one of these retreats, along with the words "cross the line". I kept him all these years. My friend Dennis went so far as to make a button featuring our uber-happy friend's mug. I hear that members of his household still wear the button from time to time. This one is going out to my friend Gailo, who used to live in Santa Cruz and fully understands the wackiness of such a place, as only one who has lived there could.
