Day 22- Baldessari {JannaK}

Wednesday, January 22, 2014

Yes that is a (tiny) chalkboard and yes it is meant to be ironic. The quote is by Baldessari, who created this piece at my alma matter, NSCAD, in 1971 (which was well before my time!)  I'm still deciding whether or not to spray the chalk before mailing... It would be interesting to see how well the message fares the mail but at the same time I do want the message to be conveyed, so that the receiver isn't all "WTF is this?"

(I'm including a link to the Baldessari piece for anyone who is curious!

017 - Usagi on the brink

Tuesday, January 21, 2014
This piece comes from a story called "On the brink of life and death"  I managed to miss another day yesterday and today I almost missed another but dragged this one out by skipping a few details and going for black and white after making a mess of the flowers in the foreground.  Part of the 365 discipline is learning to accept that every day you can't be perfect, but when it comes to art you rarely are. The more you make the more perfect ones you will make
