Die automatische Briefsortierung 29 September 2011 (#215)

Thursday, September 29, 2011
Taken from an empty/discarded British stamp album page written up in German, the space where the stamps were had plastic mounts which I only partly took off. Then when I went to colour in the squares, the plastic that was left behind gave the effect you see which is rather unusual! Title in English reads "Automatic Letter Sorting", postal connections all round!

Stamp Colours & Dates 21 September 2011 (#207)

Wednesday, September 21, 2011
These colour and "P"(refers to the pence value of the stamps) references were taken from the selvedge of various GB definitive stamps which I was sticking on envelopes for cancellation. These selvedge printings would otherwise have been thrown in the bin so I decided to group them together and create this. The dates on the right hand side refer to the days when the stamps were originally printed. A rather stampy piece without there being a single stamp in sight!

Amelia's Double Triangle 03 September 2011 (#192)

Saturday, September 03, 2011
Amelia handed me this piece which she said had got a bit stuck together when she'd made it but I told her it added to the whole design. A neat quick way to make mailart in a hurry - paint a shape/design on one side of the paper, fold in half and hey presto, a double image!

Mug Flowers of my own 28 August 2011 (#186)

Sunday, August 28, 2011
I did these flowers while I was up in Scotland on holiday (I'm now back) and sitting in my parents' house I noticed some mugs which I bought for Mum's birthday last year. They had flowers on them like this so I took my inspiration from them and have made some "mug flowers" of my own!

Circular Insect? 25 August 2011 (#183)

Thursday, August 25, 2011
This started off as being an owl but it somehow now seems more like an insect of some sort....one thing for sure, it's so bright you can't miss seeing it!

Giant Inflatable Slide in Bournemouth 03 August 2011 (#161)

Wednesday, August 03, 2011
On the front page of Monday's (1st August)free paper, The Metro, there was a picture of a giant inflatable slide in Bournemouth so I took it and its bright colourful patterns as my inspiration for this piece - not sure you could slide down this but hopefully you get the idea, even bought some new pens to make this!

Chance Squiggles 18 May 2011 (#96)

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Following on from the chance colours of yesterday (17th May #95) we now have Chance Squiggles, also from the same note pad. Sadly the note pad has no more to offer at present so back to the drawing board quite literally!

Chance Colours 17 May 2011 (#95)

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

I was clearing and packing things up (I'm moving house in two weeks!) when I came across a note pad which one of the girls had created this piece in so I thought, "perfect, today's mailart is sorted" and as I found it totally by chance that's what I've called it!
