Spent the gap after dinner thinking about Bonnard. Which visual artist should I 'homage'? How do I merge poetry, the visual and ideas without being old fashioned. I always need to go through every step.
One the themes that emerging as I make my way through my 365 is the way i like to go sideways with words. I started with the background and wondered who those legs could belong to. Cakewalk came into my head and then I decided those legs weren't walking. No one in my family 'got it' without explanation so thought I'd be a bit more explicit on the other side. How explicit should we be?
I think I've made this in the hope that I actually do become supercharged. However after a few late nights sorting out the Positively Postal wesbite and going out last night I am feeling anything but supercharged!
Components of this piece came from interesting sources as follows:
"I" on yellow tape and the 2099 labels came from a stamp album I'm now selling on eBay - I think the labels etc were from when it was in a previous auction.
Y Beibel Cymraeg (The Welsh Bible) is from a stamp presentation pack which somebody had used as a stiffener to send me something.
The words, (This week, am supercharged), the shark type creature (actually a cycle helmet!) and the patterns came from usual Saturday magazine - I'm now even less supercharged having gone through that list! :)
